Eve and Berry <3 I can never find the right words in moments like these, but I think that her best friend Eve has said all there is to say, perfectly. "...Yesterday we lost our little girl, Berry. She went downhill extremely quickly after the seizure she had a few weeks ago. She was in pain and we made a promise to her she'd never be left to suffer. I got to hold my girl as she left this world and will forever be thankful for that. On coming home, we finally put the the pictures from the shoot. It has completed the room after having our hearts broken. We're so happy we got the shoot done. We have lots and lots of photos over the last 15 years of our old guys, but these ones have so much love and soul in them - it's unreal. Having just this year lost our three dogs and my 6 yr old first ever Rabbit whom I loved with all my heart, I know all too well the pain involved in losing a fur-baby. It's been so hard losing her, especially for me as she was my little girl. I just cannot stop crying, but the photos we have from you are in clear sight everywhere we go in our home. She's always there, and I know she's watching over us right now with her sister and brother. Once again thank you for your time in taking the photos we will cherish forever. x Eve" I'm so deeply sorry for your loss - she was such a sweet, funny old gal and I know how much you're hurting. xx Caitlin

You may have noticed a lack of Paddy posts recently. I've started and stopped writing this too many times to count, mostly because I'm not exactly sure how I feel. Our not-so-little foster puppy has moved onto his next stage of training for Dogs for Kids with Disabilities. He turned One Year Old this week - how time flies! I miss watching Lyra and Paddy play gleefully for hours and I miss his slow, gentle lean on my knee. But he was never ours to keep and more than missing him, I am excited to see what the future brings for the Padmeister. His leaving us was actually good timing. So soon after Misty, it feels right to curl up in our little family and rebuild ourselves. If I'm totally honest, I've been clinging (somewhat desperately) to Lyra in the absence of my Moo. I need her and deep down I have to admit that I need to feel needed. With our sidekicks gone, Lyra and I have had a chance to re-connect and become closer than ever. I'm so happy that we decided to foster Paddy. He brought so much laughter into our home and more importantly, he will change the life of a very deserving child in the future. Good luck in the next stage of your life, little big one xxx Donate to DKD online here: http://ift.tt/1u8fHRA And find out more about fostering a DKD puppy online here: http://ift.tt/1yGvs9v
